JAMAICAN reggae superstar Beres Hammond is due in Zimbabwe on Wednesday ahead of a weekend concert in Harare.
Hammond, famed worldwide for his smooth and soulful lovers rock reggae, is the star attraction at the Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival at the Glamis Arena on Saturday.
The 26-year-old star, who brought us hits such as ‘Tempted to Touch’, ‘They Gonna Talk’, ‘Rockaway’ and ‘I Feel Good’, will arrive from the United Kingdom. He will be backed on the tour by two other Jamaican artists — Cocoa Tea and Fantan Mojah.
Sulumani Chimbetu, Winky D, Mic Inity and the Transit Crew are among the local artists booked to perform at the festival which featured another Jamaican star, Beenie Man, last year.
Lion Lager brand manager Sandra Madovi told NewsDay: “We decided to bring in the crew from Jamaica because of the response we got from people at last year’s beer festival.
“We decided to go a step forward and spoil our supporters by bringing them more Jamaican artists.”- newzimbabwe.com
